I asked Vanessa, to post a few things about yesterday. I didn't realize she handled the entire post before I had already written up a few things about the day. Enjoy the double post and different perspectives.
They poured the final concrete footings today for the car shelter. Brick and block will soon follow. They raked and spread straw over the exposed dirt (a lot). They installed several more steel posts replacing brick piers. I must add they are using a transom and are very precise with all of the foundation supports. Their aim is to get it perfectly level. I am not sure a 90 year old house will be able to handle being perfectly level. They created the re-bar mat for the basement slab. They treated for termites, and spread plastic over the dirt. They installed more "construction fences" to keep the workers, tools, materials and mess within a confined area. They moved the Porto-potty (further away from the house yay!). They also brought in more materials for the family gathering area floor. That is about it, tomorrow should be another big concrete day.
